Add Item to an Existing Order
If a free or bonus product needs to be added to an order that was already paid for, please follow these steps to add the bonus item. If the product requires payment a new order should be created.
Look up the order
- Navigate to WooCommerce > Orders
- Locate the order. You can search by user, order number, and/or filter by date.
- Click on the desired order to open.
Enable Editing
Order editing is disabled on Completed orders. So to edit the order, the status must be set to On Hold or Pending Payment. If the order is Complete you will need to temporarily change the status to be able to edit the order items. To update status:
4. Click the Status drop down and select On Hold.
5. Update the order to enable editing.
Add Item(s)
Below the Order detail section is the Item detail section.
6. Click on the Add item(s) button.
7. Click on the Add Product(s) button.
8. Type in the search bar to find the product to add to cart.
9. Select the desired product and click Add.
10. A. Apply the coupon needed to discount item.
10. B. Alternately if you have approval to manually override the price. Click the Edit item pencil icon (You may need to hover over the line item for the edit icon to appear). Edit the Price. Click Save.
Complete adding desired products, making necessary adjustments, and VERIFYING THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL FUND OWED. Then
11. Click the Status and select Complete.
12. Update the order.
