How to Edit a Webinar with Screenflow
Click on the "Media" button in the right-hand box.
Click on the "+" button and select "Add File"

Select the bookend for the beginning of the presentation.

Select a bookend file for the end.
Once you have both files, click, hold, and drag to place them on the timeline. If needed, zoom out the timeline for ease of use.

In this step we are going to separate the audio from the video tracks, so that each may be edited independently.
Right-click (or Control-click) on the video track(s), and select "Detach Audio" from the dropdown menu. This will separate the audio from that video track, and will create a new track containing the audio.

Ideally, you should end up with four tracks: two audio, and two video.
If the webinar was hosted via Zoom, the webcam footage and screen-capture will likely be together on the same track. If so, duplicate this track, so that you may have one track for each.
Identify which tracks contain what content, and name them accordingly. They will be: Screen-Capture, Webcam Footage, Presenter Audio, and Guest Audio.
Arrange the newly named tracks in the following descending order:
Layer 1: Webcam Footage
Layer 2: Screen-Capture
Layer 3: Presenter Audio
Layer 4: Guest Audio

To improve audio quality, select an audio track, and click on the speaker symbol in the right-hand toolbox. Check off two boxes “Remove Background Noise” and “Smooth Volume Levels”. This should be done with both audio tracks.

The Guest Audio track may contain audio from multiple guests, and therefore, multiple sources, each requiring their own fine-tuned solutions. Some experimentation may be required.
Select the video track you wish to crop, or cut down to size, and then click on the film icon in the right-hand toolbox.
Click on “Cropping” and a set of four sliders will appear. Use the sliders to crop the edges inward. If needed, you may alter the numbers manually beyond what the sliders allow.
Different video segments may require different solutions.

Any visual error that cannot be cropped out will need to be masked.
You can mask footage using several different methods.
You may cut and delete a segment, and fill in the blank space with another segment of your choosing.
Another option is to layer a new segment on top of the original.
This step is the simplest, but also the longest.
Start from the beginning, and carefully watch and listen to the entire recording, while cutting and deleting segments as necessary.
Segments of audio that may need to be removed may include, but are not limited to, unnecessary vocal sounds, repeated words, sneezes, coughs, yawns, clearings of the throat, long silences, audio glitches, audio drops, barking dogs, car horns, screaming children, ringing phones, etc.
Save your work often.
Save your project one final time by clicking “File>Save”

Click “File>Export”, and a pop-up window will appear.

Name the file according to the following naming convention:
Category - yyyy.mm.dd - Title - Presenter
Example: PEP - 2023.07.04 - Brain Circuitry - Brad.mp4

Use the default settings unless otherwise directed.
Click on "Export".
The screen will go dark, and an estimated completion time will be shown. Do not quit the application or rest your computer until the export is complete.

Once Complete, the file should appear on your desktop.
Next you will need to upload your work. Instructions available at:
