How to Upload a Video to Wistia
Open your web browser. We suggest using Google Chrome.
It can be downloaded from https://www.google.com/chrome/
Go to: www.wistia.com
Use your work email address & password to login.
If you don't have an account with Wistia, one may be provided by your supervisor.
This is where we store the majority of our audio and video content.
Our files are organized into different project areas.
Marketing material, such as ads and promotions, go in the marketing area, and Practitioner Education Materials go in the Practitioner Education area, and so on.
Click on the project area where you wish to upload your file.
Click on the upload button in the upper right-hand corner.
Select the file you wish to upload.
The time it takes for your file to upload will depend on the file size, file type, and the quality of your internet connection.
It can take minutes or hours.
DO NOT close your browser window, quit your browser application, rest, restart or shut down your computer until the upload is complete.
Be advised: Energy saving features on your computer may cause it to go into sleep mode or shutdown after a preset time of inactivity. Please ensure that your settings will not cause this to happen, or you may have to start over again.
After your file has finished uploading, it will need some additional time to encode.
Similarly to the upload, it may take minutes or hours. However, at this time, you are free to close or quit your browser, rest, or shutdown your computer.
Figuratively speaking, you have delivered your passenger to their destination, and they just need time to settle into the new space. Your job is done for the moment, so you can focus on other tasks in the meantime.
After the encoding is complete, try playing the video at different points to ensure it plays properly.
Now it’s time to choose a thumbnail for our video. Ideally, this should be the title slide of the presentation.
Under the Customize tab on the left, click on “Thumbnail”.
You will be given two options:
1. Upload a new image
For the first option, click ‘Upload a new image’, and use the pop-up window to select an image of the presentation’s title slide from your computer, if one is available.
2. Use the current frame.
For the second option, you must first play the video from the beginning, and then pause the video when it shows the title slide, and then click ‘Use the current frame’.
Once the new thumbnail has been set, click ‘Save’.
Refresh the page to ensure that your new thumbnail selection has taken effect, and repeat any previous steps if necessary.
Congratulations, you are done.
If you need to post the video to DiscoverHealing.com, refer to steps found here:
You are done. Great job!
