Quality Review on First Edited Version of Video Recordings

After a recording is made, the Media Editor should review it for obvious edits that will need to be made before it becomes the final Polished Version. If this is done before sending it to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, a more efficient process will be created. Some of these items may be more easily seen on the video after it is uploaded to Wistia and viewed from that point of view.

Confirm and correct these things after the first recording.

Audio:

  • Bookends with logo and music
  • Audio track is on and at the correct volume
  • Audio track is run through software to remove stutters and repeated words, plus ums and ahs, etc

Visuals:

  • Auto-subtitle track is off (no burned in subtitles appear)
  • Edges are free from dark shadows, black bars, etc
  • No errant lines appear
  • Transitions and cross-fading looks correct
  • Animation sequencing is correct on bullet points or images
  • Animation timing is correct on bullet points or images
  • Webcams appear if necessary
  • Names on guest caller webcams are blurred or removed

General:

  • Dated information removed (sale, event info, announcements)
  • Unnecessary comments removed

After needed corrections are made, send the video to the Quality Assurance Supervisor who will review it and provide feedback.
