How to Update a Wistia Recording Using Adobe Premiere
You must have Adobe Premier software installed to use with these instructions.
For more instruction, refer to an Adobe Premier beginner's tutorial such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQE3sUfMVsE
Read and understand the edits you are to make. If in doubt, ask the QA Manager.

Login to: https://drbradnelson.wistia.com/content
Go to: All Content > Webinars (or other specified area)
Click on the title of the recording.

Click Download.

Confirm the file is downloaded. You will see it appear at the lower left.

Click on Adobe Premiere icon from lower dock or search in Applications and open it.

Click on New Project.

Note naming convention. Use periods in the date, not slashes.
(In Adobe Premiere, a slash indicates a file pathway, and this is not the case.)
Click OK.

Click on the file and drag it down to the timeline.
It will appear that the video is duplicated, but it is not.
1.) The top box holds the original resource material.
2.) The bottom box is the version we are editing.
Control Click on the recording that was just added to the timeline track area.
Select Unlink to separate the audio track from the video track.
Unlinking these allows them to be edited independently.

The audio track will appear below the video track.
Refer to the edit request and locate the time stamp on the video timeline to perform the first edit.
Place blue vertical indicator at that location.

Watch and listen to the video to determine the precise location where this cut should happen.
Use the slider tool at the bottom to scroll and/or magnify as needed.
Use arrow keys on keyboard to move indicator to exact frame where the cut will occur.

Press C to bring up cutting tool (razor blade cursor).
Using the indicator as a guide, click on both tracks (one at a time) to make the cuts.

Repeat to make additional cuts.

What appears blue is the section you want to keep. What appears white will be deleted.
Delete the highlighted (white) track segments.
Press Delete on keyboard.
Click on the empty space between the tracks.

The white line will appear in that area.
Click Delete on the keyboard to delete the empty space so the track segments are joined.

The empty space is gone.

Repeat steps 8-9 for additional cuts & deletion as needed.
Go to File > Save

Go to File > Export > Media.

Confirm name is correct.
Press Export.

Message will indicate how long the export will take.
Close unnecessary applications to expedite export time.
Caution: Be sure the computer is plugged in. Do not close window or tab during export.

Login to wistia.com.
Click on where the replacement video will be uploaded.
Open the dropdown to find the specific video.
Click on the title.
Click on Replace Media.
To keep both versions, use Swap Out.
To only keep the new replacement version, use Overwrite. (Be sure your new version is great first!)

This message will appear and the progress bar will fill as the new replacement is uploading.

That's it!
You are done. Great job!
