How to QC a Translated Video
You will want both videos to have the same English transcript (and subtitles).
Download the English transcript from the English video. First click on the 3 dots, then select Download from the dropdown menu.
Choose English and click on Download.
Upload the English transcript to the translated video. Click on the 3 dots and select Upload.
Drag the transcript to the Upload Transcript box, or select it from your recently Downloaded files and click Select Files button.
A message will indicate that the English transcript will replace the one already on the video. You do want to replace it because the transcripts on both videos need to be the same. Click Save.
Set up an Edits Sheet to note your observations about the translated video.
Confirm these are all good:
- Runtime is the same as the English video
- Bookends with logo and music are at the beginning and ending of the video
- English subtitles are on the translated video
- English subtitles are in sync with the audio on the translated video
- Titles on slides are capitalized
- Adequate, consistent margins on slides
- Slides flow with no glitch
- Webcam is in proper place (if a webcam is used)
- Body Code App movements match the English video
- Calendar date is the same (if a calendar date appears)
Some of these can be confirmed before watching the video, and others during.
Fill in notes in each column as you go so you know everything got checked.
It should look something like this:
To find audio and visual errors on the translated video, watch both videos at the same time.
Push the volume to zero on the English video, and put the volume on for the translated video.
Align timing on the videos by watching the highlighted transcripts that will appear to the right of the videos. As you begin to listen to the translated video, notice where the transcript is highlighted and click on the English video transcript about a line ahead so they will play together. (It takes about that long to first start playing the translated video, and then start playing the English video to align them.)
If the video is uncomplicated, you can choose to play both at 2X speed. (Use settings on the green horizontal menu under the video).
Watch for visual differences in the two videos. These could be:
- Timing is off when a new slide should appear
- Timing is off when a new bullet point should appear
- Visual mistakes
- Poor spacing on edge margins (too much or too little space)
- Incorrect capitalization
- Text left in English that should have been translated
- Etc.
Add notes to the Edits Sheet of the Error to Fix and the Timestamp where it occurs.
Mark the line pink.

Continue checking the video for additional errors, adding a new line on the Edits Sheet for each error.
After checking the entire video, let the video editor know there are errors to fix. Assign a Connect Task card with a link to the Edits Sheet.
When the error is corrected, the video editor will make a note and mark the line on the Edits Sheet green, then indicate on the Connect Task card that the edits are completed.
After you confirm that an edit has been completed, add a note to the Edits Sheet.
If an item still needs to be edited, mark the line pink and add a note to explain what needs to be done, and send it back to the video editor to complete.
When all fixes for the video are confirmed, fill in the Completed cell on the Edits Sheet to indicate the video is Done.
