Translating the Emotion Code Chart

Terms to Use

When translating the Emotion Code Chart into other languages, use the words that have been added to the Discover Healing Glossary and QC'd by a translator.

DH Glossary is found at:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n1WzZVoiE9xeZflpxm1ksinQHIyX69bZbYtN1mmwrkE/edit?gid=766021670#gid=766021670

The name of the translator should be found at the top of the column. If Deepl or GoogleTranslate was used for the translation, it will indicate this instead.

Sometimes it is necessary to move forward using translations that are not QC'd by a translator yet, but this is not preferred.

Make a Copy of Editable English File

Go to Zoho > WorkDrive > Translations Working Files> Charts > Chart of Emotions >EN-The Emotion Code Chart (EDITABLE)

Click File, then Make a Copy.

On text box, click blue box that says Make a Copy. You will get a a message saying your copy is ready. Click Open Now.

Confirm

IMPORTANT: Confirm you are working with the copy and NOT the original English version. It will say Copy of EN - The Emotion Code Chart (EDITABLE) at the top.

Rename File

Click on the title and rename it using the 2-letter language code to show the new language it will be.

This example will be creating a Japanese chart, so the file will be renamed JA - The Emotion Code Chart (EDITABLE).

Add Translated Words

Copy words from the DH Glossary and then paste in the appropriate places to replace the English words.

Setting Background Color

Note: This step can be done either before or after adding the translated words.

Highlight entire Emotion Code Chart. Select the font box for Background Color and choose No Fill.

This will ensure that the original color green (on green rows) will be saved and not have white highlighting around the words. This will keep the green background where it should be.

If you need to add the green color back to the Emotion Code Chart on the rows that are supposed to be green, use Hex Code #DCFCEB.

Simply click on the number of the row to the left of the chart to highlight that row and use the down carrot for the Background Color and select the correct light green color. All boxes in that row will be filled in with the green color as the background.
