How to Edit Subtitles in Text Edit with Timestamps
1. Open up the video in Wistia.
2. Stretch it wide enough to see the Transcript column and “Edit Transcript” button on the right side.
3. Use the 3 dots to the right of “Edit Transcript” button to access the drop down menu. Select “Download Transcript.”

4. In the box, use the dropdown arrow to select the language.
5. Click on the blue "Download" button.

6. From your "Downloads" open up the subtitles file. (It will have ".srt" at the end.)

7. It will open up in the Text Edit app.
(If you don't have the Text Edit App, it looks like this. If you don't have it yet, download it to your computer.)

The subtitles will appear like this in the Text Edit app with line number, timestamp range, and line of text.

8. IMPORTANT:
This Text Edit file is editable. Be very careful to keep the text lines short and the timestamps are left intact.
If a timestamp must be changed, be sure that the next timestamp is changed to match.
If the second timestamp is a long time after the one on the previous line, then for that portion of time, no subtitles will appear.
Any small error will prevent the subtitle file from being uploaded back to the video.
9. After all edits are made, save the file. Use "Help" and type "sav" and click on "Save As".

10. Rename the file to distinguish it from the original one. Be sure to keep the .srt ending. Click on "Save".

11. You will see the new name at the top of the file.

12. Upload the new subtitle file to the video. Use the 3 dots to the right of the “Edit Transcript” button and select “Upload Transcript”.

13. Upload the file into the “Upload Transcript” box.
(You can either click and drag the file, or select it from your computer.)
14. Once you see it there as a “replacement” click “Save”.

15. Go to the video and click on CC at the lower right edge of the video to select the language you just added.
16. Play the video and confirm the corrected subtitles appear.
