How to Prep Videos for Maestra Ai-Subtitles
Locate and open video in Wistia.
Click on 3 dots and Download Video.
Select mp4 and 1080p. Don't include captions. (We will need to get the English .srt subtitle file separately.)
Under Transcript area, click on 3 dots. Select Download.
Select English and Download English Transcript.
Login to Maestra.
Under Current Channel dropdown, select the target language.
Click on Subtitle.
Click on + New Subtitle (Green button at upper right).
UPLOAD ENGLISH VIDEO:
Under Upload your files, upload the .mp4 video file.
Under Select audio language, English should be selected. Do not translate audio into another language. Choose Skip automatic transcription.
Click Submit.
A warning will appear to confirm you don't want automatic transcription. Because the corrected English .srt subtitles will be uploaded, we don't want automatic transcription. (If there were no subtitles created yet, you would want the automatic transcription generated.)
Click Continue.
The title of the video will appear under My Files and show the status Processing.
When the status is marked Ready, click on the title to open the video.
UPLOAD ENGLISH SUBTITLES:
Click on Import Subtitle Blue button.
Browse for the .srt subtitle file you downloaded earlier.
Click on Import Subtitle blue button to upload it to Maestra.
Notice that the video appears on the right side, and the English subtitles will be on the left.
Click on the + button to generate ai subtitles in the target language.
Select the target language from the dropdown. Click Add blue button.
The ai generated translated subtitles will appear below each of the English lines.
This is now ready for the translator to check the ai translation for errors and to make corrections as needed.
